Press manufacturer Mark Andy saw its most successful year in its history last year, as the company looks to further its position in markets around the world.
At a hybrid-heavy European open house, ‘The Power of Hybrid Forum’, Mark Andy presented its multiple hybrid printing options. This included the European debut of Digital Series iQ, featuring a Domino inkjet engine at its heart.
Digital Series IQ is a fully-integrated flexo-inkjet line, combining Mark Andy’s Evolution flexo platform with a Domino N610i UV inkjet integration module. The press can print at speeds of up to 70m/min in high production mode and its fully integrated nature sees Mark Andy describing it as a ‘game changer for profitability metrics.’
Converting components can be integrated as customers require, with additional print stations, semi-rotary die-cutting and inline slitting notable options. It can also be equipped with a Kurz Distorun embellishment module, which was demonstrated as part of the open house.
Mark Andy executive vice president Tom Cavalco was present at the event, and noted that despite various challenges, such as extended lead times through to the current war in Ukraine, last year was Mark Andy’s most successful in its 75-year history, with almost 80 machines being sold in Europe alone.
Mr Cavalco also highlighted the continuing strength of Mark Andy’s presence in the UK and Poland, as well as its growing share of the market in both Germany and the Benelux region. Understandably, demand in Eastern Europe has come to a standstill. The company is also developing its presence in Latin America, particularly in Mexico and Colombia. Another area of interest was RFID, where demand in the US is long established but is only now starting to accelerate in Europe.
