Returning later this year, the second edition of Plastic Waste-free World Europe is to be co-located alongside the Greener Manufacturing Show Europe, as the events’ organiser seeks to position them as a ‘must-attend’ for any sustainability-focused company looking to reduce the impact of its industrial and manufacturing processes on the environment and global climate change.
Plastic Waste Free World Europe is focused on the elimination of plastic waste, and exploring how international businesses from a wide variety of industries can reduce their use of fossil fuel-based plastics, eliminate single-use plastics, design and create more sustainable bio-sourced products and packaging solutions, introduce more circular business models, and, ultimately, ‘help contribute to improving the global plastic pollution crisis.’
The 2022 edition is predicted to attract more than 200 international speakers and over 700 delegates to debate and discuss the latest business models, strategies, materials innovations, future regulations, manufacturing technologies, bio-sourced options, and the latest and next-generation technologies to help meet future plastic waste targets and create highly sustainable products accepted by rapidly evolving consumer demands.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the packaging industry is identified as one of those to benefit from participation at Plastic Waste Free World Europe 2022, whether that’s eliminating single-use and hard to recycle plastics, reducing plastic wastage through design and manufacturing, or improving recyclability.
Greener Manufacturing meanwhile is intended for any sustainability focused company looking to design and manufacturer their products from more sustainable materials, limit and eliminate the use of toxic chemicals, and reduce the impact of their industrial and manufacturing processes on the environment and global climate change. Packaging is again identified as one of the industries to benefit most from participation.
Overall, the combined exhibitions and conference are expected to attract more than 150 exhibitors and over 3000 international brand owners and manufacturers.
Those from the packaging supply chain exhibiting in Cologne across 9-10 November include Ball Packaging, Coveris, Futamura, H.B. Fuller, Iggesund, Huhtamaki, Lecta, Lenzing, Mondi, Sappi, Stora Enso and UPM.
In detailing the co-located Plastic Waste-free World Europe and Greener Manufacturing Show Europe, Trans-Global Events, which organises both, stated, ‘We believe in making sure that businesses reduce their environmental impact and produce and design innovative plastic-free products. The Greener Manufacturing Show Europe and Plastic Waste-free World Conference & Expo aim to source the latest environmental technologies and sustainable solutions for the manufacturing process and create an exquisite green community to help achieve all sustainability targets.’
