Product identification specialist Markem-Imaje has launched MiVista, connected printer services designed to streamline and improve daily coding operations across a printer fleet.
Using an Internet of Things (IoT) platform – itself developed with expertise gathered across more than 17,000 software installations and honed by analysing data from over 4000 printers in the field – MiVista provides manufacturers with continuous insight and support.
Specifically, MiVista services deliver: real-time visibility and printer alerts, providing increased self-sufficiency and automated risk monitoring; predictive analytics, automated improvement alerts and proactive prevention advice; and advanced remote diagnostic capabilities to streamline root cause determination and quickly identify the best way to get production up and running.
MiVista works with Markem-Imaje’s Miva intelligent, self-support system, and alongside remote video support. MiVista services are currently available for the 94XX and 9750 continuous inkjet series and are being rolled out geographically to Markem-Imaje customers in phases.
Mark Hathaway, product marketing manager, connected devices and solutions services at Markem-Imaje, said, ‘The benefits of MiVista will further enhance our customers’ service experience. This connected printer services offering is available in various levels of functionality to suit the operational style of each customer individually.
‘No stone has been left unturned. The MiVista platform has been rigorously designed and features advanced security protocols using a Microsoft Azure IoT Edge certified device. It leverages drivers that have been field tested and constantly improved for decades. Add to this our deep knowledge of Markem-Imaje printers, their characteristics and how they operate on a day-to-day basis. The result is this: a fit-for-purpose, world-class, IoT service offer to meet our customers’ unique support needs.’
