Chile’s AMF Etiquetas has installed a dFlex press from Focus Label Machinery, as the converter augments its existing digital printing capabilities to enhance its services to the country’s wine market.
AMF Etiquetas offers a range of high-end labels and packaging to local wine, food and packaging companies. However, with Chile the fourth largest exporter of wines in the world, and the first exporter of bottled wine in the new world, AMF Etiquetas is working hard in this area to advise on design trends, label substrate developments and overall market developments, in order to support the perceived value of Chilean exported wines in the world and ensuring these products remain high end brands in the US and European markets. This is supported by packaging innovations and production investments, such as the Focus dFlex.
The installation was completed in May of this year and the investment will allow AMF Etiquetas to explore the practicalities of adding customised and variable data to generic product lines. Whilst the company already utilises toner-based digital printing systems, as well as traditional flexo, offset, screen and foil printing, dFlex inkjet digital printing technology may jet be rolled out to other locations for label finishing close to the wineries, to improve distribution and speed of processing.
AMF Etqieutas has also invested in a dedicated on-site print and packaging centre for its clients. The digital laboratory features state-of-the-art technology together with a team of specialist team of experts aim to realise personalised designs, and bring together technology for mock-ups, ideas and concepts to be presented and brought to life faster.
