Aakruti Multipack of Himatnagar, located in the Indian state of Gujarat, has invested in a Colornovo SAPFC hybrid printing platform from Jetsci Global.
Aakruti Multipack specialises in the production of lamitubes for various industrial sectors. Traditionally using central impression (CI) printing processes, the addition of the Jetsci Global press has seen the company expand into digital labels and packaging.
Jetsci Global is a brand of Monotech Systems. Colornovo is a printing platform that combines four-colour UV inkjet digital printing, with white available as an option, together with flexo for spot colours, varnishing or other post-digital steps, as well as cold foil and lamination and rotary die-cutting. Via its digital printing unit, a native resolution of 600 x 600dpi is achievable, with speeds of up to 50m/min and the ability to print on surfaces up to 330mm in width.
The decision of Aakruti Multipack to opt for the Colornovo SAPFC press was primarily influenced by sustainability and productivity concerns. It also offers the capability to print on a range of materials, expanding the application range.
Aakruti Multipack director Parvin Patel explained, ‘Colornovo has been instrumental in our foray into the label and converting market. We had been contemplating entering the digital segment for some time and the Jetsci Colornovo has finally made it possible for us. After several discussions and extensive R&D support, the Jetsci team delivered a product that perfectly met our requirements.’
He added, ‘Since the outbreak of Covid, the market has become increasingly focused on multiple SKUs and shorter runs. It was difficult for us to meet these requirements via conventional presses. We needed a technology that could resolve issues of substrate wastage and provide us with a quicker turnaround time. Colornovo not only offers great productivity that matches four flexo presses in one but also the innovative powerhouse team behind Jetsci knows exactly what the customer needs and delivers it in one go.’
