South African print company GTV Label Master has installed a seven-colour Screen Truepress Jet L350UV SAI S label press, adding UV inkjet digital printing to its capabilities.
GTV Label Master is a label and commercial print house. Established in Durban in 1989, the family business has since been servicing a growing number of clients in the region and beyond, and manufactures plain and printed self-adhesive labels, computer and jet laser labels and flexible packaging.
The addition of UV inkjet is noted as a ‘big leap’ for the company, but one which has already secured GTV Label Master a steady stream of business from new customers in the competitive South African market. This move has been facilitated by Rotocon as Screen’s agent in South Africa and which has had a 20-year relationship with GTV Label Master. Rotocon also provides after-sales and technical support for Screen’s inkjet digital technology.
With GTV Label Master having chosen the Screen press for its ability to deliver faster turnaround times and quality labels, company co-owner Ravi Pillay said, ‘The SAI S series’ improved colour reproduction, as well as its superior scalability, enables it to meet a wide variety of market needs. The innovative inks maximise the machine’s already outstanding quality, stability and compatibility with a wide range of substrates. It’s undoubtedly the most flexible and automated label production system in its class.’
He went on to describe the Screen press as ‘a revelation to the business’, which has, ‘changed our way of thinking when it comes to label printing. Digital printing is the future, and this press will allow us to be at the forefront of digital label printing in the Durban Metropolitan area.’
