In.Pack Machinery Group, a manufacturer of packaging machinery equipment with a strong sustainability proposition, has formalised its presence in North America following the acquisition of Karlville Swiss.
At the end of last year, the Ambienta-owned group added Karlville Swiss to its ranks in line with a stated, ‘strategy of becoming a one-stop-shop for the most demanding packaging producers globally, as they seek to embrace sustainability across their diversified product offering,’ as noted at that time by In.Pack CEO Jerome Onorathi.
Headquartered in Balerna, Switzerland, Karlville Swiss was founded in 2018 by Gianfranco Locatelli and Gustavo Guzzi, in partnership with Karlville US. The company has established itself as a supplier of pouch making technology, which has coincided with the rise of digital flexible packaging’s recent growth. Such systems, like the KS-DSUP-400-GSW converting line and LM-SFT800 combination laminator, have been widely installed at converters that are looking to push the digital flexible packaging market forward. As such, Karlville Swiss claims a ‘premium customer base’ and has a global reach, with around 50% of sales booked in North America and the balance among Europe, Latin America and Asia. In.Pack has now established an office in the US, as well as implementing a sales and marketing plan for the region. Karlville US is supporting In.Pack in strengthening its reach in the US as a commercial partner
Within the In.Pack Machinery Group’s Sustainable Polymer division, Karlville Swiss joins Mobert, Amutec and SCAE as a line-up of companies that produce machines for the converting of bags and pouches. These four will be presented at the upcoming Flexible Packaging Association’s (FPA’s) Annual Meeting this week in Florida. Karlville US is based out of Miami in the US state. The group will also be presented at interpack in May, Labelexpo Europe in September and further shows in 2024.
