UK converter CS Labels has unveiled Pouches.co.uk as its new identity to target the pouch market.
Following investment in HP Indigo’s PackReady ecosystem through the installation of an HP Indigo 20000 digital press and complementary equipment from the likes of Karlville, in addition to existing technology ported over from the previous CS Pouches business, Pouches.co.uk gives CS Labels and parent company Asteria Group a new and refreshed route to market to take on the flexible packaging industry. This is all now housed at a dedicated site separate the company’s label printing operations.
Specifically, Pouches.co.uk, provides dedicated pouch manufacturing and distribution, and not just to existing flexible packaging customers but across the whole of Europe as a dedicated pouch production site within Asteria Group.
Underlining Pouches.co.uk is the mission statement that ‘Everything is Pouchable’. Pouches are able to be produced using a variety of materials, depending on the application and end-use. For example, having the option of thermal or solventless lamination allows constructions to be built tailored to the customer’s requirement. A low MOQ and dedicated account manager are intended to, ‘ensure the best pouch solutions for any size business.’ Pouches are shipped within 10 working days from approval.
Various options are also available for sustainable, environmentally-friendly pouch options, from paper-based packaging to paper/PE constructions that are fully recyclable. RecyclaFilm is one such option, being 100% recyclable and containing only a very small amount of PE content. This can be printed using digital, and also flexo or litho elsewhere within the Asteria Group structure, and is available as a K-seal stand-up pouch with tear notches. Pouches up to 300mm high are available.
‘How big is this market?,’ asks Paul Humpage, sales director and co-managing director at CS Labels. ‘It is still growing and will only get bigger. Just look at digital labels, which continues to grow. We’ve seen the market for digital flexible packaging mature over the last two years, and customers have become more sophisticated and aware of the options available to them. More and more are realising the benefits of taking their product out of a labelled pot and putting it into a pouch. We are witnessing and helping that transition.’
