Industry associations CEPI Cartonboard and Pro Carton are to merge in order to create a more effective and efficient group that has a stronger voice throughout the carton industry.
The two will come together under the Pro Carton name. This follows a 12-month consultation period and was confirmed at Pro Carton’s 2023 AGM in mid-June. Several new working streams will be created, each devoted to driving synergies, improving the associations’ representation and support it offers member organisations.
Pro Carton president Michele Bianchi commented, ‘This merger will create a stronger association that will ensure Pro Carton are prepared for the future of the European cartonboard and folding carton industry. With a stronger voice, cooperation across industry borders, and closer collaboration with ECMA, our union will deliver the support needed for the sustainable growth of our industry.’
Pro Carton has also confirmed its newest board members who – before the final merger in mid-2024 – will help strategically guide both associations.
