The management team behind packaging.digital, an independent print service provider in Germany for corrugated board manufacturers and converters, is looking to ‘think outside the box’ and bring new concepts to digital corrugated packaging market.

Based in the greater Cologne area of Germany, packaging.digital will serve corrugated manufacturers and converters in German-speaking countries and Benelux from November 2023 onwards. The company is aiming to deliver its B2B clientele a combination of cutting-edge, high-quality digital printing technology and in-depth expert consultancy. The company’s business model is based around delivering OEM packaging services for integrated corrugated cardboard plants, converters, stationary trade and e-commerce. This model targets those manufacturers and processors of corrugated packaging and displays that do not have in-house digital print production facilities.

For digital corrugated printing, packaging.digital has installed a Xeikon Idera, which runs food-safe, pigment-based aqueous inkjet inks. Co-CEO Sebastian Wolff said, ‘We wanted our service offering to be profitable, sustainable, and smart for everyone. That includes making the process experience as user-friendly and complete as possible so converters can focus on creating and delivering the added value brands and consumers demand.’

Fellow co-CEO Mario Deilen said, ‘We want to push the possibilities of digital printing further and be the partner converters need without investing in their own digital print resources. Xeikon Idera enables us to think outside the box and bring new concepts to the market.’
