Corrugated packaging machinery manufacturer Fosber has entered into a strategic partnership with HP’s PageWide business for preprint applications.
This collaboration aims to combine the strengths of both companies and deliver ‘cutting-edge solutions’ that enhance the capabilities of digital print and advanced corrugators. Specifically targeted at the litho-lam market, the resulting system – DigiCorr – combines HP PageWide T700i and T1195i digital presses with Fosber’s Quantum Corrugator, themselves equipped with Smartline controls from Erhardt+Leimer. This powerful combination is said by the companies involved to, ‘provide manufacturers with a streamlined and highly efficient approach to producing high-quality, high-graphic boxes.’
The HP PageWide presses are 67in- and 100in-wide digital web machines for the preprint corrugated market. Quantum Corrugator caters to lightweight papers down to 50gsm and is available in 70in and 98in widths. Claimed to be faster and wider than a laminator, Quantum Corrugator supports standard plain board as well as varnished and special coated options. Additionally, it enables the production of larger printed sheet sizes, further expanding creative possibilities for packaging manufacturers. It features interface that integrates the E+L Smartline camera system.
Through this collaboration, Fosber and HP are aiming to transform the corrugated packaging landscape. Joining forces with E+L ensures, ‘industry-leading expertise and cutting-edge solutions converge to deliver unmatched value to their customers.’
Jeff Pallini, Fosber America CEO, said, ‘We are very excited about collaborating with HP to run digital preprint on the Quantum Corrugator. This will provide the customers a flexible, high-quality solution of producing digitally printed sheets on the corrugator.’
Stephen Shannon, worldwide go-to-market manager HP PageWide Industrial Packaging, said, ‘Fosber’s expertise in the corrugated packaging industry is unmatched and together we have the potential to transform the market. By combining Fosber’s cutting-edge corrugator technology with HP’s advanced digital printing capabilities, we can revolutionize the way boxes are produced. This strategic relationship opens up new possibilities for efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the corrugated packaging industry, and we look forward to the positive impact it will have on manufacturers and their customers.’
