Buchs, a well-established player in the graphic industry in Denmark, has invested in an HP Indigo 6800, as the company adds a dedicated label printing division to strengthen its production in this growing segment.
Over the past few years, the label market has undergone significant development with a consistent increase in demand. To address this trend, Buchs has decided to invest in the HP Indigo 6800 digital press. This addition to its production capabilities will enable Buchs not only to handle previously outsourced tasks internally but also to effectively deliver customised label products to customers throughout Denmark.
Moreover, for Buchs, this investment marks a strategic move with an entirely new label business aimed at meeting the increasing demand for labels and strengthening the company’s production within this segment.
Svend Erik Pedersen, sales director at Buchs Labels, commented, ‘By taking this step forward, we enhance our ability to meet our customers’ needs more directly. This investment enables us not only to improve our internal production efficiency but also to solidify our position as an agile and reliable partner in the graphic solutions industry in Denmark.’
Supplied by Visutech, the press is equipped with seven ink units. Such a configuration can be used for printing CMYK plus orange, violet, and green, to achieve an extended colour gamut or produce highly accurate Pantone emulations on-press. A key benefit noted by Buchs is the printing of special inks such as silver metallic, premium white, invisible yellow and blue, fade-resistant yellow and magenta, or off-press mixed spot colours. Also highlighted is HP Predictive Press Care (PPC), a Cloud-based HP PrintOS application that optimises and plans preventive maintenance efficiently in terms of time. PPC also provides early warning signs of impending issues, allowing maintenance to be performed before a failure occurs to avoid unnecessary downtime and optimize production.
