Corrugated packaging manufacturer Durham Box has appointed Percy Sowden as the company’s new general manager.
Mr Sowden began his career in engineering, where he amassed over 25 years of experience in various engineering and project management positions. He transition into manufacturing 12 years ago when he joined Nissan Motor Manufacturing. Subsequently, he ventured into the corrugated packaging industry, working with several companies in the UK and across the Middle East.
With a background in engineering and manufacturing, Mr Sowden is said to, ‘bring a wealth of experience and a forward-thinking approach to the role.’

Recently, Logson Group, the UK’s largest independent supplier of corrugated packaging, acquired a majority shareholding in Durham Box.
In his new role, Mr Sowden will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site activities, with a strong focus on future-proofing the business in terms of process optimisation, strategic investments and staff development.
