Australia-based QLM Group has opened a new label and packaging manufacturing facility in Vietnam, intended to advance the group’s local presence and extend its position across the wider Asia-Pacific region.
QLM Vietnam – Hoang Ha Label Co. recently celebrated the official opening of its new manufacturing facility in Ho Chi Minh City. With a total investment of over $15 million and covering an area of 6000sqm, the newly designed factory consists of several dedicated areas focused on different printing technology, including flexographic label printing, offset printing for soft folded cartons, digital printing technology for both labels and sheets, as well as a newly installed digital flexible packaging printing and finishing equipment, including Vietnam’s first HP Indigo 20000 digital press. The investment in upgraded equipment and expanded production lines provide enhanced options and productivity for the label and packaging market, ‘particularly in the emerging flexible packaging area.’ Moreover, QLM stated that it is making ‘significant strides’ with label and packaging technology to meet the increasingly diverse demands of the Vietnamese and broader Asia-Pacific markets.
The event marked the 25th anniversary of Hoang Ha Label Co., Vietnam’s oldest privately owned label manufacturer. QLM Vietnam – Hoang Ha Label Co. managing director Dang Tan Khoa said, ‘From a modest scale with a few one- and two-colour flatbed machines, the company has expanded the factory to 6000sqm, offering diverse services to provide comprehensive labelling and packaging solutions for domestic and international partners.
‘Over the years, we have consistently prioritised technology as the focal point of our development. We are committed to continually upgrading technology and technical standards to adapt to the market’s diverse needs.’
The opening also coincided with the 50th anniversary of QLM Group, which was founded in Brisbane, Australia in 1973. Simon Pugh, QLM Group managing director and son of the founders, commented, ‘Today, as we celebrate 50 years of providing labels and packaging, we do so with our eyes firmly to the future. We continue to build an international company, managed locally respecting local customs and traditions, whilst investing in the technology and people to ensure we deliver you innovative and effective label and packaging solutions that meet the needs of today’s ESG environment.’
