Fujifilm is to open the doors at the UK beta site for its Jet Press FP790 digital flexible packaging press, showcasing the new press in full production in a genuine packaging manufacturing environment.
Taking place across 12-15 February, 2024, the open house at the as-yet unconfirmed beta customer will be the first time Jet Press FP790 is available to be seen in the steel by the wider industry. Launched at interpack in spring 2023 to brands and retailers and made commercially available at the same time, FP790 is water-based inkjet digital press for flexible packaging that prints at a 1200 x 1200dpi resolution with CMYK inks, at 50m/min. To allow Jet Press FP790 to integrate into existing production environments, Fujifilm is entering into multiple strategic partnerships. So far, these include Henkel, Nordmeccanica and Hybrid Software. More partnerships are to follow.
The UK beta site is one of the early adopters to have successfully shown the capability of Jet Press FP790 to digitally produce flexible packaging at an industrial scale. Production from this site was livestreamed onto the show floor at Labelexpo Europe 2023 in September. Further trials in the US and Japan have similarly demonstrated this capability.
With the Fujifilm Packaging Open house taking place over four days in February, each are dedicated to specific areas of the supply chain. 12 February is for brand owners, with printers and converters invited to attend on 14 and 15 February. Press, media and analysts will get their chance to see Jet Press FP790 running first-hand on 13 February.

Flexo technologies will also be shown as part of the open house, such as Fujifilm’s Flenex water washable plates, LuXtreme LED curing systems and CuremaX flexo inks.
