Jimmy’s Iced Coffee has successfully completed trials of cartons made from zero-tree packaging materials, and has now integrated them into its entire e-commerce product line.
Zero-tree packaging is a solution sourced from crop waste and is a concept championed by Raw Packaging. By repurposing agricultural by-products that would otherwise go to waste, this packaging is claimed to offer various environmental advantages and to ‘significantly’ reduce carbon emissions associated with traditional packaging production.
For Jimmy’s Iced Coffee, the shift to zero-tree packaging aligns with the brand’s stated mission to promote sustainable consumption while supporting environmentally responsible practices. It also aligns with the company’s B Corp status and ‘unwavering dedication’ to environment-positive actions and appealing to a broader audience through sustainable practices.
Ben Nethersole, Jimmy’s head of operations commented, ‘By switching to packaging made from crop waste, we are helping to change the mindset of where materials are sourced from, a critical step in conserving our planet’s resources.
‘Incorporating zero-tree packaging into our e-commerce range underscores our commitment to sustainability while appealing to a wider audience that values eco-friendly alternatives. We believe this initiative will resonate with environmentally conscious consumers and reinforce our dedication to making responsible choices throughout our business operations.’
