JohnsByrne has purchased a Scodix Ultra 6000, powered by SHD, to provide the company and its customers with ‘sophisticated and sustainable’ embellishment capabilities.
The Chicago, Illinois-based business is regarded as a premium and comprehensive single-source provider to major brands within sectors such as beauty and wellness, spirits, financial services, consumer products and others.
The investment in the digital enhancement press is said to ‘underpin the need to provide brands with the sophisticated and sustainable embellishment capabilities’; Scodix’s SHD technology is identified as being key to delivering this, as Mark Nixon, executive vice president, global sales and marketing at Scodix, commented on. ‘Being chosen by a premium company like JohnsByrne is a testament to the versatility of Scodix to produce a wide range of product decoration effects, whilst achieving productivity and sustainability goals. The team was impressed by our LCA results giving them a basis to encourage brands to incorporate more embellishment options to attract customers.’
JohnsByrne president Corey Gustafson explained: ‘Our investment in the Scodix press supports our commitment to ongoing and purposeful capex investment to provide our customers with the latest technology for delivering elevated brand premiumisation.
‘The Scodix is an excellent complement to our existing state-of-the-art pressroom and finishing solutions to round out our high-end embellishment capabilities, all while supporting our continued responsibility to the environment.’
He continued, ‘Alongside sustainability, it is vital as a supplier to leading brands for us to select a press that will optimize our efficiency and answer the growing need for shorter time to market.’
