Whitmar Publications, the publisher of Digital Labels & Packaging magazine and sister titles FlexoTech and Digital Printer, is today under new stewardship, following the retirement of founder and chairman Martin White.
Mr White, who established the company 35 years ago, has been replaced as chairman by Richard Pepper, the founder of online greeting card service Funky Pigeon. A formal handover took place at a recent 35-year celebration lunch for employees and friends of Whitmar, held at London’s iconic ‘Gherkin’ building.
Lindsey Pearson, Mr White’s daughter, continues the family line as managing director and publisher. She paid tribute to her father’s legacy, saying, ‘My father has been a great mentor to me over the years, and I’ve learned so many invaluable lessons from him. This is a pivotal time for Whitmar Publications with dad stepping down as chairman after 35 years, but I am excited to welcome Richard Pepper, who will bring new ideas for the continued success of Whitmar. We are all delighted to have him onboard.’
Incoming chairman Richard Pepper added, ‘I’m honoured to have been chosen to take over from Martin at Whitmar. This is a company that has served the industry well for so many years and is highly regarded. Having spent time with Lindsey and the team, I’m confident the company can go from strength to strength and I’m looking forward to working with them on existing and new projects.’
Well done Martin and welcome Richard into a ‘well-geared’ team headed by Lindsey.
Looking forward to the future developement of the Whitmar Group, its publications and whatever more may follow.
