Packing systems producer and supplier Cyklop has acquired the UK coding and marking business The Needham Group, which it says will strengthen its position in this sector across Europe, Africa and parts of the Middle East.

Cyklop sells ranges of high-resolution inkjet and continuous inkjet printing systems for coding and packaging, while The Needham Group includes ink manufacturing, continuous and thermal inkjet coding printers and industrial laser marking technologies.

‘I am excited that Cyklop now has our own ink production facilities on the three continents, which is a direct benefit to our customers,’ said Roberto Salemme, CEO of Cyklop. ‘We are also well positioned with Needham’s coding and marking technologies and expertise to offer OEMs and end users a complete packaging line of equipment: from industrial ink and laser printers to our existing portfolio of case erectors, taping, wrapping, strapping machines and all the consumables required. Better than that, we employ the experts who are ideally suited to not just engineer for our customers but support them long term.’

Aled Ellis, managing director of The Needham Group, said the acquisition by Cyklop ‘marks an exciting new chapter for Needham’, enabling it to strengthen its position across Europe, Africa, and parts of the Middle East while ‘continuing to deliver the innovative coding and marking solutions our customer’s trust’.

‘With Cyklop’s global reach and resources, we can expand our product offerings and provide even greater value to new and existing customers. I look forward to leading this next phase of growth and working closely with the Cyklop team to ensure our continued success,’ he added.
