Label printing group Reflex has added a third Screen Truepress Label 350UV SAI-S inkjet press to its armoury, as part of an extensive investment in upgrading its equipment.

The group first came across the technology when acquiring an Australian business that was already using the press. Reflex discovered that downtime due to breakdowns was virtually non-existent, and this led it to buy a further Truepress Label 350UV SAI-S. The decision to invest in a third system has been driven by the need to print high opacity whites onto clear plastic substrates at a further site within the group.

In addition, the new press will complement Reflex’s analogue printing capabilities, with the Screen inkjet useful for delivering smaller initial label runs quickly, and traditional technologies handling subsequent larger volume orders.

‘We are constantly looking for ways to provide the best solutions for our clients,’ said Ian Kendall, CEO of Reflex Labels. ‘Our investment in three Screen digital label presses is about more than just buying new equipment; it’s expanding our ability to deliver exceptional labels that meet our clients’ needs in terms of quality and turnaround times. To do that we needed a reliable partner with a reliable digital printing press.’

This reliability means that Reflex is able to install a single Screen Truepress 350UV in each location that has one, rather than installing a second in each as cover for when there is a press breakdown, it said.
