European manufacturer and distributor of specialty paper Lecta has obtained FSSC 22000 food safety systems certification for its metallised papers for packaging applications in the food industry at its mill in Leitza, Spain.
This achievement means the company now has three food safety certified mills in Spain. Its Sant Joan les Fonts mill has already obtained FSSC 22000 certification and its Motril mill has ISO 22000 certification for food safety management systems. These two certifications are described by the company as two of the most widely known standards in the food industry which entail rigorous audits to ensure compliance.
Lecta said this achievement is an essential step in meeting the needs and trust of its clients and consumers in general, as it looks to continue offering safe, reliable food packaging alternatives.
