Plastic producer, transformer, and recycler Valgroup has installed a HP Indigo 200K digital press, bringing the machine to South America for the first time. The installation also marks the 400th HP Indigo digital press for flexible packaging to be installed worldwide.
Acquiring the HP Indigo 200K has catalysed innovation for the Valgroup, explained HP. This has led to the creation of a new digital vertical enabling the company to scale the offering across other areas of the business and increase services to its customers at speed. As the only converter equipped with the technology in the South American region, the Indigo 200K press has also enabled the company to diversify into new areas such as labels and shrink sleeves.
Marcus Vinicius, business manager of Valgroup, outlined the reason behind the installation was a response to evolving market demands for flexible packaging. The new digital offering provides the company with superior print quality, a streamlined production, increased efficiency and an expanded flexible packaging portfolio, which will drive profitability, he added.
Valgroup leverages HP SpotMaster which enables converters to deliver accurate colour precision, within minutes, maintaining high colour consistency and uniformity across each label or package. Valgroup aims to scale the use of the HP Indigo 200K with the intension to add value to its entire value chain from 2025.
