Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems (PCS) has launched the latest version of its table operating software, IPC 3.1. Available immediately across Kongsberg PCS’s latest models, the cloud-enabled operating system introduces enhancements aimed at increasing productivity.
The redesigned user interface features “one-click” functions, automated setup, and a touch-friendly layout with real-time feedback, helping to reduce the learning curve for new operators. The company said these improvements will enable customers to better utilise the capabilities of their existing cutting tables and enhance overall productivity.
The updated operating system includes several new features designed to improve efficiency, user experience, and production accuracy. According to Kongsberg PCS, a standout feature is the new dynamic nicks, which streamline material handling by keeping cut parts and waste collected during unloading. This allows users to adjust nick sizes and placements directly within the system, eliminating the need for third-party software or manual file path changes.
Automation also supports easier setup and improved workflow. For example, the system now includes a simplified V-notch setup with automatic calculations to ensure accurate folds. Additionally, automatic edge detection and file orientation help eliminate manual adjustments by automatically rotating or mirroring files as needed. These enhancements, combined with improved job estimation capabilities, help deliver more accurate production timelines and reduce downtime, resulting in a smoother, more efficient process from start to finish.

The latest version of IPC 3.1 software is available for all recent Kongsberg PCS platforms, including the Kongsberg Ultimate, C-series, X-series, and select earlier-generation models.
