Sonoco Europe will make its first appearance at Vitafoods Europe 2025, exhibiting a range of recyclable packaging solutions aimed at the health, nutrition, and supplements sectors. The event runs from 20–22 May in Barcelona.
On display will be the company’s Greencan and EnviroCan ranges, both designed to support sustainable business practices by offering paper-based alternatives to traditional packaging formats. These solutions cater to growing consumer expectations around environmental responsibility and health-conscious product choices, explained the company.
“Currently, consumers are evermore mindful of both their health and the environmental impact of their purchases, and increased uptake in our paper-based packaging reflects this,” said Kieren France, vice president sales and marketing Europe at Sonoco.
Greencan packaging is made from up to 98% paperboard and features integrated paper lids, making it fully recyclable via standard household paper waste streams. It is available in a variety of shapes and sizes, offering barrier properties that maintain product integrity. EnviroCan also emphasises recyclability, using up to 95% fibre and incorporating moisture and oxygen barriers to protect contents and extend shelf life.
A recent collaboration with organic pet snack startup DoggyLove illustrates Sonoco’s flexibility in adapting its solutions to specific brand needs. DoggyLove chose Greencan for its sustainability credentials and short delivery lead times.
Sonoco Europe sees its participation in Vitafoods Europe as an opportunity to expand its presence in the health and wellness market, where clean-label products and responsible sourcing are increasingly valued. The company aims to help brands align their packaging strategies with consumer expectations and industry standards for transparency and sustainability.
